So, P. and I went for some clam chowder at one of our favorite local haunts that we cannot get enough of: Fish. If you have come for a visit, it is most likely that we have taken you here for a bite to eat. We were having a discussion about how he thinks that oyster crackers actually destroy the chowder. I happen to disagree. I think it is a great complement and adds texture. Because he seemed to be threatened by my distinguished tastes, he even went so far as to call me an 'inlander'! I am so sure! I think the most important thing to note about the history of oyster crackers is the following:
"If there has been a constant in the history of chowder, at least for the last two hundred years, it is the common cracker. A perfect companion for chowder."
