Get Well Soon!

Sending out some get well wishes to my 'soul sista' Erika. She broke her foot after falling in a hole....I wish I could say it was to save a dog, or a small child, but I am afraid her and I are more similar than we are different in our ability to walk with grace. She had to have surgery and ended up with 2 plates and 6 screws in her foot. A handful of Percocet and some physical therapy and she will be good as new! Glad Midsommar!!

Summer is officially here and the Swedes really know how to get it started off on the right foot. Midsommar is one of the biggest holidays of the year, next to Christmas Eve. We decided to have a celebration of our own since we couldn't make it over to the Motherland. We had some deelish meatballs, dill new potatoes, herring, shrimp with Peter's amazing sauce, cold beer and of course Aquavit. Although our repertoire of Swedish songs was slightly weak, songs were sung, games were played, and of course there was dancing. (6/22/07)

Day at the Spa

It was day o' fun at the Allegria Spa in Beaver Creek! This place was amazing and it was great to have some girl time with my Mom and sister. The facial, the 'Aqua Sanitas', and the weather could not be beat! I can't wait until next year! (6/17/07)

Black Side Down!

Summer is officially here and the rivers are pumping! We took a trip up to the Poudre River to have some paddling fun. To our surprise, it was over 4' on the gauge which definitely kept us on our toes! After watching a handful of boats come through Pine View Falls, we opted to do the lower run, and although it was a bit short, we still had a great time, and an even better sandwich at the Pickle Barrel! The Funky Punky and Lucy's Delight are worth the drive alone! Until next time....paddle forward! (6/16/07)

Happy Hour McGrath Style

The water was calm, the beers were cold and the sun was setting....it was Happy Hour McGrath style! I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see the McGraths and try out their new toy on the lake. Good times were had by all, despite the fact that I felt like I woke up in a body bag the next morning! Good times indeed! (6/15/07)

Sue's Mean BBQ Chicken

I was able to see my friends S and G over the weekend, and had the pleasure of indulging in some of Sue's mean BBQ chicken complete with potatoes, corn on the cob (shucked by her kiddos), homemade BBQ sauce, a fantastic salad, only to be topped off by some homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream! To die for! Always good to see you guys, and the deelish food was just a bonus! Until next time.... (6/14/07)

Mad Max's 40th B-Day via Helmet Cam

Here is some footage via helmet cam of some paddling fun with Mad Max on his 40th B-Day courtesy of Boogie. It's a little unstable and the quality is a little shaky (kind of like my kayaking), but it's attached to his head for crying out loud! Paddling Around The Bay

We have had a couple of amazing days of weather, so we decided to head outside and do a little paddling. It was a fantastic day filled with fresh air, warm sun, and big waves. It's a great way to go exploring and to say hello to our 'buddies'. (6/13/07)

We went for a bike ride up in the Marin Headlands. I took a bit of a beating since I haven't been on my bike in ages, but I held my own. It was a beautiful day, so it was worth it! (6/10/07)

The Search For Sparkling Wine

We headed up to Napa on a mission to find some deelish sparkling wine (not champagne, as Peter kept reminding us!) for Brett and EP's pending nuptuals. (which is only 4 weeks away!) It was a beautiful day and our mission was accomplished with some bubbly from Gloria Ferrer. We also made a stop at Ernie's Tin Bar on the way home where we had some Miller High Life, Louisana Hot Links and Brett was able to pick up some farm fresh eggs. (6/9/07)

My brother Jeff has recently accepted a job as the sous-chef for Rhapsody's Restauarant in Golden, Colorado. He won them over hands down in the interview Iron Chef style!
