Lost Balls Did Exactly That......

LOST!! Unfortunately, in a devastating finish to an extended bocce ball season, Lost Balls could not pull off a win against reigning champs A&J Rollers. Those guys can roll like Jesus Quintana! We came so far, and yet it only takes one bad throw to change the entire game!

Overall it was a fun season, as usual, but it was also a little funky with rain delays, a new ref, who kept throwing out new rules, and no celebration BBQ. What did all of our hard earned dollars go towards, anyway? I could have sworn the ref was sporting a new pair of shoes and a new tape measure. The word on the street is that people are lobbying for 'court maintenance' and to limit the entry to Sausalito residents only. We shall see what happens.

Oh, and thanks to Mom and Peen for coming down to cheer us on! The only thing that was missing was the traditional Egg McMuffin Mom used to bring me at swim meets. (Which of course was quickly followed by me rushing to the bathroom after swimming a 200 free! But I digress....)

Sure, it is all in good fun, and just an excuse to drink beer and eat chips on a Friday night, but I will leave you with this:

"There is no room for second place. There is only one place in my game, and that's first place. There is a second place bowl game, but it is a game for losers played by losers. It is and always has been an American zeal to be first in anything we do, and to win, and to win, and to win. "

-Vince Lombardi

See you suckas next season!

A Night at Bimbo's 365 Club

Last night we had the pleasure of seeing Koop at Bimbo's 365 Club in North Beach. It was fantastic! The Swedish duo of Oscar Simonsson and Magnus Zingmark wowed us with their musical stylings that they like to call Swingtronica. (Yes, of course they are Swedish.) Typically their music is pieced together with hundreds of samples, but when played live they bring in a 7-piece swing orchestra complete with some guy who was absolutely wicked on the xylophone! Do they still call it a xylophone? Not to mention, the venue was absolutely fantastic. The club was built in the 1930's as a way to bring some fun to the Depression and it soon became the place to see and be seen. We sat at a table in a dark room lit only by candlelight, while we drank champagne and were mesmerized by the voice of the lead singer: Hilde Louise Asbjornsen. She was amazing and even had 3 outfit changes. Brett and EP were also able to join in the fun, and hats off to Eeps for rallying even though she came straight off of a plane from a long, exhausting business trip. Thanks for helping us bring in our 2nd Anniversary with style! En gång til, Stockholm! En gång til!

Old School

Peter and I came across our old University ID cards. I can only imagine the swagger Peter had walking around campus at Dalhousie University. I actually had to transfer schools from University of Northern Colorado to Colorado State University because I looked way too much like Janice from The Muppets.

We Definitely Felt That One!

As we were sitting here watching a seasonal childhood favorite, It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!, we felt the house start to shake. At first, I thought Loretta from upstairs was moving around some heavy furniture, but the house kept shaking. It was quickly confirmed that it was an earthquake with a 5.6 magnitude that occurred just north of San Jose. That was certainly the biggest and longest tremblor we have felt yet! Time to pack the Chef Boyardee and bottled water!

Where's Peter?

So, a truckload of Peter's stuff has arrived this week from his recent journey to Halifax. Some clothes, an F1 racing wheel, momentos, and some priceless pictures. Here is just a taste of the good stuff to come: Joachim Nielsen at the Royal Boarding School of Sweden, or Sigtunaskolan. Priceless!

Weinermobile Sighting!

Peter and I were out running some errands today, and I could not believe my eyes! I spotted the famous Oscar Meyer Weinermobile! I have always heard legend of the car shaped like a giant hot dog and sure enough there it was in all of her glory parked near San Francisco Airport! Sadly, the pics are not that fantastic, since all I had was the camera on my phone, but Peter humored me and gave me my moment with the giant hot dog on wheels.

Sucka-Free Weekend!

Well, over the weekend we really did a whole lot of nothin' and it was fantastic! We have both been on the road over the past 2 weeks and some downtime was long overdue! After our bocce ball win Friday night, follwed by an intense, very close game of Cranium, (it was high time Peter and EP finally showed up to play!) the rest of the weekend was filled with movies, sports, and of course some of our favorite food! The highlight was when Peter indulged me with his famous Swedish pancakes complete with fresh fruit and topped with Nova Scotia maple syrup! Deelish! His killer nachos weren't too shabby either! It was like it was my birthday or something. Oh yeah....that is coming up too!

See You on the Mayan Riviera!

The invitations for my sister's wedding have officially been mailed out! We just received ours today, and it came as a message in a bottle! Fantastic! My sister did not miss a single detail, even the color of the bow around the box matched the embossed lettering on the invitation! And good font choice as well! (Trust me, it's a girl thing!) Not to mention, the sand in the bottle was actually from Playa del Carmen! Congrats little seester! Chris is so lucky to call you his bride. I know I consider myself lucky to call you my sister! Sniff.....
