LOST!! Unfortunately, in a devastating finish to an extended bocce ball season, Lost Balls could not pull off a win against reigning champs A&J Rollers. Those guys can roll like Jesus Quintana!We came so far, and yet it only takes one bad throw to change the entire game!Overall it was a fun season, as usual, but it was also a little funky with rain delays, a new ref, who kept throwing out new rules, and no celebration BBQ. What did all of our hard earned dollars go towards, anyway? I could have sworn the ref was sporting a new pair of shoes and a new tape measure. The word on the street is that people are lobbying for 'court maintenance' and to limit the entry to Sausalito residents only. We shall see what happens.
Oh, and thanks to Mom and Peen for coming down to cheer us on! The only thing that was missing was the traditional Egg McMuffin Mom used to bring me at swim meets. (Which of course was quickly followed by me rushing to the bathroom after swimming a 200 free! But I digress....)
Sure, it is all in good fun, and just an excuse to drink beer and eat chips on a Friday night, but I will leave you with this:
